Camões, I.P. has its resources located all over the world in the areas of co-operation, Portuguese language and culture, most notably the co-ordination of teaching Portuguese abroad, schools and associated centres, language centres, lectorships, Portuguese cultural centres and co-operation attachés.
Co-operation services for different areas exist at Portugal’s embassies in Luanda, Praia, Bissau, São Tomé, Maputo and Dili and are available through co-operation attachés working directly under the Portuguese ambassador, as well as sectorial officers.
Specialising in the area of development co-operation, Portugal also has attachés and counsellors working in the permanent representation to the European Union and diplomatic missions within the OECD and United Nations.
Additionally, if the size of projects financed by Portuguese co-operation warrant it, co-ordination teams are set up in the main partner countries, including East Timor, the Portuguese-speaking African countries and Latin America.
