Latest Developments
The island of Sal is establishing itself as an international tourist destination. As such, it has been attracting people from other islands in search of employment and better living conditions. However, the supply of labour is significantly lower than the demand, which brings a large number of families into situations of poverty, family disintegration and economic and social vulnerability, with frequent violations of children's right.
This project is designed to serve those children and adolescents in vulnerable situations. It aims to provide a community centre - SOS Sal - which supports orphaned children and/or those at risk of losing parental or family care.
This project was 100% financed by Camões, I.P. (€10,000) in 2013.
